The field of toxicity of construction and building materials has less than 20 years and the book "Toxicity of building materials" published by Elsevier in 2012 is one of the first books in that field. This book has gained most of its citations in the last few years which shows this field is starting to gain traction. Let´s not forget that the toxic effects of several building materials on human health gained new importance in the context of the Covid-19 health crisis. Just because a healthy building environment is crucial to strengthen the immune system (Haahtela, 2019). The second edition entitled "Advances in the toxicity of construction and building materials" has just been terminated and will be published in a few months. Book cover below.
