Still following the article (post in the link above) by the vice president and provost at the University of Oklahoma entitled "The Coronavirus Is Accelerating History Past the Breaking Point" that was published in Foreign Policy in April of this year (see below a recent, short, but most enlightening warning published in the last edition of The Economist:
"...covid-19 has served as a warning. The 80 billion animals slaughtered for food and fur each year are Petri dishes for the viruses and bacteria that evolve into a lethal human pathogen"
