Cooling materials helping to save lives in the context of the Covid-19 recession

It's worth remembering that elderly building occupants in many cities rely on air conditioning to a degree that their health is compromised in its absence. But the problem is that the consequences of the coronavirus economic recession will be so bad that will make air conditioning a luxury that only a few will be able to afford. And since heatwaves will become much worse in the future and will also be aggravated by urban heat island effects then the study and development of cooling materials will become a "hot" research field.
