The phrase above was taken from an article in the last number of The Economist entitled "Time to think small". On it, its mentioned that universities in UK asked for a 2 billion government bailout that it will hardly happen. The article even mentions those that "who would have been financially better off had they not attended university". And it ends in a not so happy premonitory manner: "It sounds like universities with poor graduate prospects in richer parts of the country should be worried"
