Engineering education and "fachidioten"

the recent paper in the link above published in the journal Futures shows how little engineering courses in Portuguese Universities worries on ethical issues: “The percentage of them with at least one mandatory curricular unit fully dedicated to ethical education is only 7.6%”.  This situation is particularly peculiar given its profound significance within the framework of climate change, a complex phenomenon that poses numerous ethical inquiries deeply intertwined with the essence of humanity.

PS - Nearly five years ago, I referenced the insights of Wojciech Zieliński, a former Rector of a Polish university, who eloquently described this matter by highlighting that “the traditional narrow technical formation produces graduates that are, using the German language expression “fachidiot”https://repositorium.sdum.uminho.pt/bitstream/1822/30745/1/Chapter%201.pdf
