Foresight__Long-term trajectories of human civilization

One of the references cited in the paper below directs readers to a thought-provoking book that advocates for adopting long-term strategies to address the pressing issue of rising sea levels. https://www.amazon.com/Long-Thaw-Changing-Climate-Princeton/dp/0691169063

“This paper aims to formalize long-term trajectories of human civilization as a scientific and ethical field of study….This paper is based on a discussion led by Baum on September 9, 2017 at the Workshop on Existential Risk to Humanity, which was hosted by Haggstrom and Sandberg  at Chalmers University of Technology.”http://gcrinstitute.org/papers/trajectories.pdf

However, the focus on climate consequences exclusively within the timeframe of 2100 or even 2200 seems limited, as it only addresses the concerns of a few generations. It is crucial to recognize that a broader perspective is needed, extending far beyond these relatively short periods.

PS - See below an interesting map of 4000 years of world history (representing around160 generations). It is worth noting that this span represents merely 1% of the time since the emergence of Homo sapiens and a mere 0.0001% of the entire history of life on this planet, spanning over 4 billion years.
