Thomas Rowland-Rees, PhD in Physics from Oxford University

Still following the post above its important to keep in mind that Thomas Rowland-Rees, PhD in Physics from Oxford University and now Bloomberg Chief Analyst, just said that it's better to forget the Paris Agreement and its 1.5ºC temperature rise limit because its impossible to enforce (USA, the country that refuses to accept the Paris Agreement alone emits as much carbon as India, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico and Turkey combined) and also because according to him our best shot is now to target for the 2ºC temperature rise threshold.

Unfortunately, that threshold is the same that the Kyoto protocol (that took place 22 years ago) rated as being catastrophic. But since COP 25 was such a terrible failure maybe he´s right and it's better that we prepare for that 2ºC temperature rise scenario. https://www.sciencealert.com/if-warming-exceeds-2-c-antarctica-s-ice-sheets-could-raise-seas-20-metres Be there as it may i´m afraid that 22 years from now we will be talking about the need to prepare ourselves for a  3ºC temperature rise scenario.

P.S - Of course in order to understand America we must not forget the words of Thomas Friedman: "America can’t be afraid to act like the almighty superpower that it is. The hidden hand of the market will not work without a hidden fist.
