Crime, academia and the black dolphin

The criminal world does not sleep thinking of innovative ways to increase its cash flow. It remains to be seen if Academia will give any help in order to tackle the problem or if as mentioned in the post below will continue to be more concerned with research lines related to "Fashion and Design"?

It is rather interesting  the relationship between the number of volunteers willing to enter the world of crime, poverty and inequality in the British case

or the peculiar North American approach https://www.wamc.org/post/criminalization-poverty-america the country that lives under the motto "Get rich or die trying", see for instance the words of Prof. Reich https://www.kansascity.com/opinion/opn-columns-blogs/syndicated-columnists/article204794939.html

Below an interesting the world map where the color is darker for the countries with the highest percentage of prisoners per 10,000 inhabitants. The title of the map could be "Countries ability to produce criminals". It shows an unmistakable dominion of the lighthouse country of capitalism followed by the former lighthouse country of communism, but only the latter may claim to have an incomparable prison.
