When the not so much altruistic The Economist urged for wearing masks to tackle the rising of Covid-19 (post above) it forgot the fact that our Planet has a special country that seems to care very little on altruism issues.

And that country does not show its selfishness only in mask wearing but also in science. USA has a ratio of 633 (Revised papers in the last 12 months /million population) which puts it very far from countries like Portugal that have a ratio of 3500
