Still following the post above concerning a paper published on the journal Third World Quarterly based on the paper of O´Neill et al.  that defined individual (social and environmental) thresholds, for example, the carbon footprint cannot exceed 1.6 tonnes/ person/year check the recent article in The Economist https://www.economist.com/the-world-if/2020/07/04/what-if-technology-tracked-all-carbon-emissions 
Yes the prediction is not an optimistic one but is not as pessimistic as this one
